Now you can see who left you rep points, i see a few people i thought liked me left me bad rep for some reason, not that the rep points mean anything to me, it's more knowing who left them.

I see alot of bad things coming from this. [img]frown.gif[/img]

I hope it all does blow up and they turn that feature off.

Rep points and board grading systems do work, but only if the community is small and mature. Both of which the white board (on a whole) is not. It is a system that is easily abused, even when the anonymity is removed. It is too easy to post something negative and then follow it up with "just kidding around", or "only having fun".

Reminds me too much of Bender from Futurama "You humans all suck" - "only kidding, gotcha!"

I think it's good and bad. Good to know who left what so the "fake names" and (hopefully) obscene type stuff stops. Bad because it's gonna set off a powder keg, including peple who don't know the difference between hate and honest disagreement.

Personally, I think TMP went about this the wrong way. They should have either just trashed the system entirely, or "re-set" the rep and TOLD people what they were doing and started with a clean slate. What are they gonna do now, ban everyone who left something bad in a person's "rep" file? That'd probably be over half the board! Not that it would necessarily be a bad idea, but I just think they dropped the ball, again, on this.

If the point to making people "claim" responsibility for the rep was to clean up the board they didn't think that out because now that people know who left what it's gonna be baaaaad!

Well, I never left anything I don't claim or stand by (95% of which was positive anyway) so I'm just gonna sit back and watch the fireworks! [img]wink.gif[/img] [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I wonder if TMP realizes 98% of that board is made up of 12 year olds....giving them the ability to leave rep for each other is like giving a necropheliac a corpse and telling him not to skull fuck it [img]tongue.gif[/img]
